Thus far we have shared episodes one and two—Founding and Abolition—in our four part series on the American Cycle. In this episode, we are introducing stage three of the American Cycle: Reconstruction.

(You can also listen to all of our podcasts on Apple PodcastsSpotifyGoogle Podcasts, and Simplecast.)

During Reconstruction, America attempts to reconstruct itself into a society without ethnocide. After abolishing ethnocide, America must build a society that can exist without ethnocide.

America’s first Reconstructionist Era lasted from 1865-1877 and the second attempt was the presidency of Barack Obama from 2009-2017. Tragically, America’s two attempts at Reconstruction have only lasted a total of 20 years. If America has any hopes of becoming an equitable and just society we must work to expand and prolong Reconstruction.

We hope that you have enjoyed learning about the American Cycle. Next Wednesday, we will send you our final episode: Redemption.
