Welcome to the Reconstructionist!
The Reconstructionist is my latest venture, and it is an extension of my previous newsletter The Word, whose content is still accessible on this Substack, and my book The Crime Without a Name: Ethnocide and the Erasure of Culture in America.
In the 9th chapter of my book, I first introduced what I call the American Cycle and explained the importance of American Reconstruction from 1865-1877. Also, in The Word I continued to talk about the American Cycle and Reconstruction. All of this work has lead us to the Reconstructionist, and I am very happy to share all of this with all of you.
The Reconstructionist is the voice of a philosophical movement called Reconstructionism that can radically transform the United States for the better. The movement and the publication are inspired by Reconstruction because these twelve years radically transformed the United States into a far more just and equitable society. The version of the United States that champions diversity, equality, and voting rights was created during Reconstruction, so when we are looking for inspiration and wisdom to change America for the better we must remember Reconstruction.
The project is much more than a publication. The vision is to create a community of Reconstructionists who can reconstruct America for the better. The Reconstructionist is one of the voices of this movement, but the plan also consists of establishing social chapters at universities, law schools, and within professional communities to also grow the movement.
At the Reconstructionist, we will produce a steady stream of content to provide a Reconstructionist perspective on today’s current events. Here are links to our first three stories:
“Reconstructionism: Rediscovering the Philosophy of Reconstruction” by Noah Woods
“The Fifteenth Amendment Personified” by Jamie Redmond
“The American Cycle: A Brief Introduction” by Barrett Holmes Pitner
Thank you for embarking on this journey with us. Collectively, we have the potential to do something truly remarkable.
